Customers Will Pay Once Porn Is Affordable

Here’s a newsflash to adult media companies who are complaining about slumping profits due to free porn resources: customers will pay once quality porn is affordable and easy to access. I’m sick of adult media companies crying about how badly pirated copies of their product are hurting sales- they’ve been crying about that ever since two VHS machines could be hooked up to duplicate tapes in teenage boys’ bedrooms across America. Anyone who’s ever felt the horny urge to go find some ‘free’ porn on the Internet knows it’s not quite as easy as everyone makes it sound like. Sure, you can find loads of sites with graphical images that many might consider offensive, but on closer analysis, you’ll quickly discover that the page you’ve chosen from the search engines is really a splash page with offers to take you to another page that has porn you can watch. No porn there either, just another splash page- at this point you might start thinking that you’re willing to try to pay once; porn should be pretty cheap, and there’ s no harm in trying it one time.

Pay porn starts to seem like the only real option when you’re led through a maze of popups and redirect pages. Sure, why not just pay once? Porn from a paysite must be good- then the REAL disappointment. I tried one of those “$2.99 for 3 days” offers, thinking it would be a safe way to try and only have to risk a single one time pay. Porn companies, it turns out, are rather crafty- and in the fine print that nobody reads I apparently agreed to let them re-bill my credit card for almost 2 years before realizing that the adult site didn’t just bill my card one time.

Pay porn companies also charge too much for their services in the first place- $30-$40 a month for a bunch of sites that all share the same content? It doesn’t matter even if I only did actually have to pay one time; pay porn sites should stop trying to fuck their customers like they do their employees; and my guess is that they’ll find that customers WILL pay when porn is affordable.
